DRIVE

A Poetic commentary on capitalism

London post-punk newcomer SEY.MOUR., alongside The Misses, have unleashed their second single,“Drive”. The track is an introspective exploration of ‘the rat race’, inspecting the ways in which capitalism affects individuals. A dark and foreboding analysis of the strive to achieve for societies approval, formed through menacing distortion. Opening with an ominous bassline and distorted retro guitar, the song introduces a sense of unease. Throughout the verses striking drums and heavy energetic guitar lines mix with atmospheic organ allowing for the contemplative lyrics to shine through. SEY.MOUR.’s vocal delivery is ruminative yet antagonistic — each word encouraging the listener to question who benefits from capitalism.

“Drive” is a chaotic and confrontational song. The aim of the lyrics is to allow the listener to question who benefits from peoples hard work and ‘drive’, persuading the listener to study peoples work life balance in a capitalistic society.

BIO

Caught between sweetness and unrest, SEY.MOUR. is an alt rock artist carving her own path through noise, chaos, and resistance. Rooted in punk’s defiance and jazz’s unpredictability, her music is a bold collision of crunchy guitars, off-kilter melodies, and sharp-edged lyricism. She sings, speaks, and shouts feminist and political truths with unapologetic force, channeling the raw experience of being a young woman navigating a world that often feels rigged. Performing alongside her band, The Misses, SEY.MOUR. brings her sound to life with explosive energy and unfiltered emotion. Her lyrics are abstract, sarcastic, and emotionally charged — a reflection of inner turmoil and outer rebellion. In SEY.MOUR.’s world, nothing is clean, nothing is quiet, and nothing is off limits.
